How the rows differ
Who owns the ledger. Paperchase, FORCS, The Fork CPAs, and Harmony Group work inside software you license: Restaurant365 or QuickBooks Online, often with MarginEdge for invoices. That keeps your books portable and familiar to any outside accountant. Kit runs on a platform it built. That lets the firm change how the books work, and it means you depend on that firm’s system.
What you can price before a call. The Fork CPAs and Kit publish prices. Paperchase gives a rule of thumb, under 1% of monthly revenue, and a quote form. FORCS and Harmony Group ask for a call.
How often you see numbers. Kit publishes a weekly P&L within 36 hours. Harmony Group publishes weekly cash flow with 5-week trends. The Fork CPAs lists weekly bookkeeping and biweekly or weekly food and labor analysis. Paperchase’s Restaurant365 partner page describes weekly operations reports.
What is bundled. Kit bundles payroll, HR, and banking into the per-location price. FORCS and Paperchase list payroll. The Fork CPAs lists sales tax filing.

What to ask every firm
- What day of the month is the close final, and is that in the contract?
- Which ledger holds my books, and how do I export everything if I leave?
- Do I get numbers weekly, by location, and how many days after the week ends?
- How are POS clearing, tips payable, and delivery payouts reconciled?
- Is inventory counted and booked as usage, or are invoices expensed as food cost?
- Who reviews the work before I see it?
Our month-end close checklist lists what a finished close should include.

Does any firm pay to be listed?
No. No vendor pays to be listed or to change its row. See the methodology.
